The Octavia E. Butler Literary Society has four membership tiers. Membership in the society is for one year, or you can choose to join the society with a lifetime membership.
- Fledgling (Student) Membership ($10.00)
- Wild Seed (Independent) Membership ($20.00): For K-12 teachers, postdoctoral fellows, emeriti, librarians, and other professionals not employed by a college/university
- Earthseed (Professional) Membership ($30.00): For faculty at any rank employed by a college/university
- Xenogenesis (Lifetime) Membership ($200.00)
